Get the Hex or HTML Colour Code

Just a quick heads-up for those out there who want the 'perfect' colour for their websites or fonts.

I used to struggle along with just the plain blues, reds and greens until I found a free tool called Instant Eyedropper.

This little beauty sits in your system tray and is always available.

So if you see a colour you like, or perhaps a whole scheme, you can easily just drag the Instant Eyedropper tool over the colour and collect the hex, or HTML code and copy it.

My blog tells you how to use it, and I must say it saved me a whole heap of time over the years.

There is a helluva learning curve to understand the hexadecimal breakdown of a HTML colour code, but you don't need to know all about that...you just want the colour, right?

Me, being a moral blogger, thought I would let everyone know about this tool, particularly as it's free!

You now have no excuse to be creative in your website colour schemes and that font doesn't just have to be black!

High Sierra Fat Boy Backpack

Just browsing the net and researching, of all things, backpacks!

I'm really into my backpacks as a keen hiker and I'm the proud owner of 5! My wife doesn't understand you cannot have enough backpacks!

This one though, the High Sierra Fat Boy Backpack, was researched for my son, who's off to college and needs a biggish bag to put all his stuff in one place.

He carries EVERYTHING about with him when away from home, and as he's taking computer science, he has enough weighty tomes to lugg about than a small mobile library!

So, this is one backpack I've given him a heads up about. So far he likes it, but as with most students, he wants to choose his own...something about being a young person who likes to take his own advice instead of a seasoned backpacker like me!

He'll choose a right stinker, I just know!

Anyway, I'm sure if he'd have seen this one first, before me, he would have jumped all over it!

 So, you can see this is one terrific game. The Spot It Card Games Rules are very easy so the whole family can get involved. There are several different sets of cards including Animals, NFL, Educational packs and Junior games.

Rock Musicians Biographies

I like to have a good read, and I'm partial to a good biography. I usually go for old actors or old explorers, but recently, I've been getting into Rock Musicians Biographies.

Boy there are some tales here! I must have read 20 biographies and autobiographies in the last year alone (I'm a rabid reader!)

Some of the stories are superb and just what I expected from the writers. Whilst some of the other books to which I was looking forward to a roller-coaster ride ended up with namby-pamby fairy story type affairs!

You wouldn't believe which rockers are completely mad and which ones are solid family types.

Fascinating stuff. My next read will be a biography from the prog rock phase, (Rick Wakeman) to see if this grumpy old man was a real Rock Star!

Mick Jaggers' book was a real eye opener for many reasons!
